Reviews and Ratings
Staying at Lainston House was wonderful. The rooms were stunning, albeit at a significant cost, and my 'family room' with 2 separate beds provided a comfortable stay. The service was outstanding, with very hospitable and attentive staff looking after us. The location was priceless, set amongst a picturesque English country manor backdrop. The dining experience was very good but felt overpriced. Overall, a luxurious stay with some minor drawbacks.
The hotel offers brilliant rooms with very comfy beds and huge bathrooms, including a jacuzzi bath. The linen is fantastic. The staff is accommodating and lovely, although some interactions might feel condescending or money-grabbing. The location is quaint and conveniently situated close to Winchester, with lots to explore. The dining experience is good, with a cozy atmosphere in the bar area, albeit with some lapses in service. Overall, a charming stay with a few minor hiccups.
My stay at the hotel was a peaceful experience, I woke up at 9:30 without any interruptions, which was bliss. The only downside was waiting in the bar for 30 minutes while our room was being prepared, and the room itself was a bit dark and impractical. Overall, I would describe it as 'very good indeed,' rather than superb.
